THE CACTUS AND THE DRAGON
Cannery Row CRR 1114
Produced by Mark Mulholland
The Cactus and the Dragon, with its shades of dark green and brown and reeking of stale coffee from a roadside diner, is a seriously impressive piece of work.
For many years, Mark Mulholland has been travelling and playing music, sometimes with bands, sometimes solo, sometimes with an assortment of musicians met along the way. His new album “The Cactus and the Dragon“, recorded in studios, kitchens and sitting rooms in Berlin, Paris, Antwerp and San Francisco, is a distinctive mix of folk, jazz, country and rock featuring guest appearances from many of Mark‘s musical collaborators.
