Impure Thoughts are a rock’n’roll band, formed by Mark Mulholland, Sean Condron and Joe Armstrong in Ireland in 1995. After touring extensively round Europe, the band settled in Berlin in 1996, where they met drummer Hendrik Herberhold, and built up a strong fan-base through consistently great live shows. They recorded and mixed their first album, “Life and How to Ignore It” in one marathon 24 hour session with producer and engineer Dugald Jayes in 1997, and the raw energy of their performances is breathtaking. The album was only ever sold at concerts, and the original pressing has long been out of circulation, so Ports of Call Music is proud to make the album available again for the first time in decades. The second album, "Lights Ahead", with a different line-up including Stéphane Doucerain and Tony Rose, is also available on Ports of Call.

This evening two bands from Ports of Call are playing together at the Villa Kuriosum in Berlin - Impure Thoughts and The Strange Encounters, along with the Belgian band Banned from Belem. Impure Thoughts played together in various lineups around Europe from 1996 to 2008, and have reunited from time to time since.
